Claire Feng questions what is beyond the obvious in an image. Taking inspiration from ordinary images of leisure and contentment, she makes paintings in which she puts her personal readings. Through expression and gesture rooted in realism, her paintings give breath and energy to these fleeting instants, and bring ambiguity and wonder to these presumed happy people and moments.
